Introduction
Our self-catering apartment is situated on the ground floor of an apartment block. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.
Pre-arrival
We have a basic website.
Bookings/enquiries can be made via email or telephone.
The nearest bus stop is 200 metres from the entrance.
The nearest train station is 8.5 miles away (Honiton). Alternatively you may arrive at Exeter St David's (15 miles away). There are accessible taxis available at this station.
We can arrange for shopping to be delivered on arrival.
We can provide information in large print on request.
Car parking facilities
This is a car park in front of the apartment block with an allocated space for the flat.
The car park is paved and tarmac, flat and even.
There is a limited street parking.
The designated parking space is 5 metres away from the entrance to the building.
The entrance is reached through the car park (see ground plans).
Main entrance
Apartment block:
The entrance to the apartment block has 3 steps. The first 2 are 12.5cm high, 33cm deep and 181cm wide. The 3rd step is 12.5cm high, 136cm deep and 181 cm wide. There is a handrail on the right hand side. The door is hinged on the left and open outwards.
The door is 76cm wide and the keyhole is 93cm high.
There is a raised threshold of 1.5cm high by 4.5cm deep.
The apartment:
The apartment is situated on the right of the entrance door, with 88cm of access space.
The front door is 75cm wide it is a fire door so is heavy and has an assisted closer. It is hinged on the right and opens inwards, the keyhole is 132cm high.
There is a threshold of 3cm.
The corridor is 88cm wide and leads to the open plan living/dining/kitchen area, the 2 bedrooms and the bathroom.
There is a smoke detector fitted in the hallway.
The apartment block - general (internal)
The ground floor is 95cm wide, reducing to 88cm just outside the apartment.
The walls are white, woodwork (doors, frames and skirting) are white. The carpets in the bedrooms are cream, there is brown wooden laminate flooring from the entrance through to the living area and kitchen and there is grey laminate flooring in the bathroom.
The mailbox (where keys are deposited at the end of your stay) is 105cm high.
A fire alarm is fitted to the whole block for communal areas only.
The flat - general (internal)
The corridor is 88cm wide.
Throughout the apartment the walls are painted white with white woodwork (doors, frames and skirting).
There is laminate flooring in the corridor and living/dining/kitchen area, with short pile cream carpet in the bedrooms and bathroom.
Living/dining/kitchen area
The door is 75cm wide.
This is an open plan room.
The flooring is laminate wood.
The living area is to the left as you enter the room.
There is a sofa (with arms) that seats 3 people.
There is an armchair (with arms).
A teletext television and DVD player are available for your use, both with remote controls.
There is a coffee table in front of the sofa (102.5cm long by 60cm wide by 30 cm high).
Furniture is movable.
Patio doors leads out to a small patio area/garden. When both doors are open the door width is 100am. (Refer to 'Patio area' for more information).
Free space between wall, door and furniture (dining and living) is at least 1.6 by 1 metre.
The dining and kitchen areas are to the right as you enter the room.
The dining table is movable (side to side). The legs are inset on each corner. Floor to lowest point of table (under space) is 73cm. The table is 120cm long, 85 cm wide and 74cm high.
There are 4 chairs (movable) without padding. They do not have arms and they swivel from side to side.
The kitchen leads of off the dining area.
The worktop height is 90cm. There are cupboards underneath and above the worktop space.
There is a double oven fitted underneath the worktop. The oven doors drop down, the lowest shelf is 27cm above the floor.
The sink is 90cm high.
The hob (including gas ring) height is 98 cm high.
The kitchen is fitted with a built in fridge above the freezer. The lowest shelf of the fridge is 115cm above the floor. The highest is 185cm.
The kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher and washer/dryer.
At least 90cm of free space between the wall and the kitchen units.
There is a carbon dioxide detector fitted in the kitchen.
Patio area
There is a small patio area/garden accessible from the living area.
The doors open up to give 100cm width. There is a step down to the patio 17cm deep by 23cm high.
The patio area (paved slabs) 120cm by 140cm.
There is a graveled area around this. This area has access rights for the other apartments but as it is situated at the end of the block we are very rarely disturbed.
There is a metal table and 4 metal chairs (with arms) for your use.
Master bedroom
The door opens inwards and there is a width of 70cm.
A double bed is provided 6ft 3in x 4ft 6in
The bed height is 60cm floor to the top of the mattress.
Non-feather duvets and pillows are provided.
Sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases are polyester/cotton.
Largest transfer space available is to the right (when looking at the bed from the bottom) of the bed and is 70cm.
Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 70cm by 130cm.
The flooring is a short pile cream carpet.
Single bedroom
The door opens inwards and there is a width of 70cm.
A single bed is provided 6ft 3in x 2ft 6in
The bed height is 57cm floor to the top of the mattress.
Non-feather duvets and pillows are provided.
Sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases are polyester/cotton.
Largest transfer space available is to the left (when looking at the bed from the door) of the bed and is 80cm.
Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 80cm by 150cm.
The flooring is a short pile cream carpet.
Bathroom & WC
The door opens outwards (into the corridor) width 75cm.
Bath with flexible shower over.
The bath is 54cm high. There are handles either side of the bath in the middle.
The toilet seat height is 38cm from the floor.
There is a space of 30cm either side of the toilet.
Free space in the bathroom is 70cm by 70cm.
The lock on the door can be release by using a Flathead screwdriver.
The flooring is a slate tile effect laminate floor.
